General Manager
Responsible for all aspects of the management of MG-International Smoke, LLC. Oversees management staff. Coordinates the planning, organization, and training necessary to achieve restaurant objectives in sales, costs, employee retention, communication and awareness, guest service and satisfaction, food quality, and sanitation.
GENERAL EXPECTATIONS:
- Act with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promote the culture, values and mission of MG-International Smoke, LLC and Partners
- Ensure that all guests feel welcome and are given responsive, professional, gracious service at all times
- Performs all aspects of position with efficiency, respect, friendliness, professionalism, teamwork, knowledge, patience, awareness, compassion, courtesy and initiative.
- Understand philosophy of management and owner. Displays consistent attention to detail and follow through of all restaurant and MG-International Smoke, LLC policies and Partners.
- Represents the restaurant professionally through effective communication, cooperation and relationships with the all business partners.
- Collaborates with team to create a culture and restaurant work environment based upon respect; fosters opportunities for team to learn, grow and develop their abilities.
- Leads the Management Staff, ensures that service standards are on par with all outside accreditation sources
- Understand completely all programs, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines and training programs.
- Offer positive solutions to problems or issues and be a voice that is part of the decision making team.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
(Includes but is not limited to the following duties. Other duties may be assigned)
P&L/GL
- Review P&L /ensure accuracy
- Review GL/ensure accuracy
- Identify improvement areas and devise remedies for improvement.
- Complete P&L review the same day P&L is final
- Distribute P&L Review to specified distribution list
- Follow-through with solutions on variable cost issues
- Responsible for Monthly P&L Review
Budget
- Completes annual budget and presents to Finance and Ops
- Approves and agrees after finance has reviewed
Cost Control
- Takes all appropriate measures to ensure that all variable costs are in line with budget
Daily Flash
- Supervise the accurate completion of the Daily Flash
- Send to specified distribution list
- Responds to immediate cost control issues
Daily Meetings
- Prepare for Daily Meetings
- Participate in Daily Meetings
- Conduct Daily Meetings at specified time
- Hold all staff accountable for executing their tasks
Marketing
- Complete/Update Sales and Marketing Plan Monthly
- Follow-through on all self assigned tasks
- Distribute to specified Distribution List
- Work with Mina Group to generate new ideas
- Work with Chef and Sommelier to promote special dinners
- Establish and maintain Concierge program
- Establish and maintain Community outreach
- Establish and maintain Grass roots plans
PR
- Designated point person for all PR related events and requests
- Approves all PR requests with MM
- Attends and represents MG on all PR events related to International Smoke
- Coordinates all PR events/requests in International Smoke
Partner Communications
- Designated point person for all communication between International Smoke and business partners with regards to issues or concerns
- Ensures information requested is received in a timely fashion
- Attends all requested meetings
- Comps
- Responsible for all comps
- Approves all comps
- Enforces written and approved Comp procedure for The Mina Group restaurant
- Controls all comps and ensures budget compliance
HR
- Supervises, manages and mentors AGM on all HR matters
- Participates in all Disciplinary Actions
Weekly Manager Meeting
- Ensures WMM takes place every week at specified time
- Includes all specified personnel (including Mina Group) in WMM
- Ensures information is accurate and up to date
- Conducts WMM and holds management team accountable for delivering results on assigned tasks.
- Follows up with status of all tasks at next meeting until completion
- Ensures notes get distributed to specified distribution list
Inventory Control
- Ensures all inventories are turned in at specified time
- Ensures accuracy of monthly and weekly inventories
- Ensures security of all inventory
- Ensures consistency of inventory procedure and communication to new managers regarding SOPs.
- Ensures inventory levels are at budget compliance
Purchasing
- Approves all purchases
- Insures receipt, cost accuracy
Service
- Directs service at International Smoke
- Ensures level of service is executed to high standards nightly
- Completes employee reviews
Management
- Directs all FOH Management in International Smoke
- Responsible for Supervision/Execution of all FOH Management Job Duties
- Mina Group Communication
- Open and clear communication with Corporate
- Complaint letters
- Conducts thorough investigation of guest complaint and finds resolution
- Follows up with guest immediately after the complaint is received (within 24 hours)
- Track complaints for future reference
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Directly oversees all restaurant management. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - 8-10 years’ of service experience, preferably in a fine dining environment.
- Excellent communication and organization skills. Ability to interact professionally and diplomatically with a variety of business partners, guests, colleagues, direct reports.
- Fluency in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Powerpoint.
- Prior experience with accounting software, POS systems, and payroll/HRIS systems.
Salary Range - $80,000 to $85,000 with 10% Bonus Opportunity
