Assistant Controller

We are looking for a Assistant Controller to oversee and manage the accounting functions for all owned and fully managed restaurant locations. Responsibilities include the production of month-end reports, working closely with restaurant management teams, system enhancements, and transactional invoice processing.  The ideal candidate is someone with excellent managerial and accounting skills who can effectively lead an internal and off-shore team.  This candidate must possess strong communication skills and the ability to partner closely with our operations leaders.

What You’ll Do:

  • Partner with the Controller to look for opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the Accounting Department  
  • Lead and manage the monthly close process for all owned and fully managed restaurants
  • Ensure timely and accurate balance sheet and income statement preparation
  • Review all entries and accounts on a monthly basis
  • Lead monthly P&L calls with Operations by partnering with Operations Leaders and Restaurant Leaders
  • Effectively manage an outsourced third party for all transactional accounting processes, from both the general accounting and accounts payable functions
  • Fully understand all accounting systems utilized and suggest/implement enhancements to increase accuracy and efficiency
  • Oversee and lead all Accounts Payable, including invoicing processing, system efficiencies, payments to vendors and managing vendor relationships
  • Create SOPs and documentation for all restaurant accounting processes
  • Manage and develop an internal team of four individuals
  • Manage the outsourced team as it relates to general accounting and accounts payable processes

What You Bring:

  • 7+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in the hospitality industry

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to assess and balance priorities in fast-paced environment
